Hi my name is Paul Michalis, I attended P.S.T.S. from 1959 to 1961 my number 119 Broughton House, my house parents, the very kind Mr and Mrs Seviour. rather unusually I had chosen to go to the school, even having to pass an entrance exam, I had seen the school band on the Alma Cogan Christmas show on B.B.C television, and was very impressed, I then met a pupil on home leave, Michael Addison, and as a suitably impressive 12 yr old decided I would like to "join up" sadly Michael died aged only 19 from a virus, I can only say that I enjoyed my time at the school, yes there were down days, but there were many more up,I loved the many sports that we participated in,kids today dont know wh at there missing, the education was first class, and wide ranging, I even enjoyed Bert Busbys signals classes, although I never went into the navy, for various reasons, I am convinced of the benefits of this type of education, I remember some names and numbers from my time there, here are a few, names all 1959/61 Barnet, Johnstone, Heibner, Stevenson, Wilton, Pepper and Arthur all of Broughton House Miscow and Nicholson both from L.R.C.H, and Shaw from Aranmore House. I would be happy to communicate with any old boys who were at Parkstone School from 1959 to 1961. |
